Amravati. The ongoing controversy over Prasad in Tirupati Balaji temple has reached the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The petition has been filed by former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party. It said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is trying to tarnish his image by making false allegations against the previous government. The lawyers representing the YSRCP mentioned the allegations made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu about Tirumala Laddu Prasadam before the High Court bench. The lawyer requested that either a sitting judge or a committee appointed by the High Court investigate the claims made by the Chief Minister. Allegations were made that animal fat was added to the prasadam. The bench suggested that a PIL be filed by Wednesday, September 25. Arguments will be heard on the same day. Allegations have been made that animal fat was used in making the prasadam of the famous Tirupati Balaji temple in the previous YSRCP government of Andhra Pradesh.

State CM Chandrababu Naidu himself has made these allegations. After which the issue has heated up across the country and there is a demand for a high-level investigation. A lot is being written about it on social media as well. Earlier, a big political controversy had arisen over this claim of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He alleges that animal fat was used in Tirupati laddus during the previous government. YSRCP has accused Naidu of making false allegations for political gain. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has put forward a laboratory report in support of this claim.

TDP surrounded Reddy

TDP spokesperson Anam Venkat Ramana Reddy claimed in a press conference that the ghee samples provided by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which manages the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, have been confirmed adulterated by the Gujarat-based livestock laboratory. He showed the alleged laboratory report, which also claimed the presence of animal fat, lard (related to pig fat) and fish oil in the ghee sample provided. The date of sampling was July 9, 2024 and the laboratory report was dated July 16.

YSRCP hits back

At the same time, senior YSRCP leader and Rajya Sabha member YV Subba Reddy said that Naidu’s allegations have harmed the sacred nature of the deity and hurt the sentiments of the devotees. It is also unimaginable to say that animal fat was used in the prasad offered to the Lord and the laddus given to the devotees. Accusing the use of animal fat is a disgusting attempt. Senior party leader and former TTD chairman B. Karunakar Reddy alleged that Naidu has made unholy allegations on Tirupati laddus for political gain.

Congress-BJP demanded investigation

The Congress has demanded a CBI probe into the matter. The party attacked the Chief Minister and the YSRCP for doing disgusting politics over the preparation of Tirupati laddu. Pawan Khera said that the case should be investigated and the culprits should be identified and given the strictest punishment, but if the claims are false or motivated by some other motive, then lakhs of Tirupati devotees will not forgive those who have tampered with their faith. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party said in a post from its official account on ‘X’ that Chief Minister Naidu’s remarks on the laddu issue have hurt all Hindus. The party appealed to the state government to immediately investigate all the issues that hurt the sentiments of Hindus in the previous government.
