A major accident almost happened at Chiang Mai Airport in Thailand.
A Canadian tourist opened the plane’s emergency exit door before takeoff. Due to this, there was a commotion there and the flight was also delayed.
The incident is said to have happened on Wednesday night. The Canadian traveler has been taken into custody by the local police. At the same time, the passenger’s lawyer has made a strange claim regarding this.
The lawyer says that when this passenger opened the door, he had become a victim of hallucination.
The tourist’s lawyer, Jirawat Yarnakiatpakdi, told local broadcaster ThaPBS that he admitted opening the door.
The reason he gave for this was that people were coming after him. From his behavior it seemed that he had become a victim of hallucination.
Meanwhile, Chiang Mai Airport Director Ronakorn Chalermsenyakorn has confirmed the incident. He said the plane returned to the terminal after technicians conducted a safety check.
After this the plane took off. The airport director said that a dozen flights will be affected due to this incident.
Ananya Tiangte, a passenger, said that as soon as the man opened the emergency exit gate of the plane, there was chaos inside.
