Indian Railways is soon going to get another good news for its passengers.
There are preparations to replace the 8-coach Vande Bharat trains running in Kerala with 20-coach versions.
Vande Bharat train (20631/20632) running between Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram passes through Alappuzha.
Railways says that a lot of crowd is often seen in this train. For many people, even vacant seats are not available.
In such a situation, they have to use some other means of transportation. Many people miss traveling by Vande Bharat due to shortage of seats.
Vande Bharat train (20631) running from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram has a total of 474 passenger seats. If Vande Bharat starts running with 20 coaches, their number will increase to 1,246. Vande Bharat train with 20 coaches will soon be launched by Indian Railways.
Two such trains manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai were handed over to Southern Railway a few days ago. Trains running between Thiruvananthapuram to Mangaluru and Tirunelveli to Chennai may get priority.
Both of these are 8 coach trains and see huge crowd of passengers. It is believed that both of these will be replaced with 20 coach trains.
Talking about other news related to Railways, a case of saving the lion on the part of the loco pilot has come to light.
