The same tribunal which she built with her own hands, has started investigating the allegations against Hasina; it has given death sentence to hundred people…

It has been 15 days since former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left her country.

In these fifteen days, there has been a huge difference in the politics of Bangladesh.

About a dozen cases have been registered against Sheikh Hasina. The current interim government of Bangladesh is continuously tightening the noose of law on Sheikh Hasina.

A tribunal set up by former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina to investigate war crimes in Bangladesh has now begun the process of investigating charges of alleged mass murder against her, AFP reported on Monday.

More than 450 people were killed in police firing during a month-long student-led protests against Hasina’s 15-year rule.

She stepped down as prime minister and fled to India on August 5. Ataur Rahman, deputy director of the tribunal’s investigation cell, said they were collecting preliminary evidence at this stage and the case amounted to mass murder.

He said the three cases were initiated by private individuals and several former aides of Hasina were also named in them.

According to local media reports, at least 15 cases have been registered against Hasina by local police units across the country.

Some of these cases predate the recent unrest and include charges of murder and “crimes against humanity.”

Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal, established by Hasina in 2010, investigates atrocities committed during the country’s liberation war against Pakistan.

Under Hasina’s leadership, the tribunal has handed death sentences to more than 100 individuals, including several political opponents.

ICT has faced criticism from human rights groups for not complying with international conventions.

Hasina’s government has been accused of widespread human rights abuses, including the extrajudicial killings of thousands of political opponents.

On Friday, the United Nations reported strong indications that Bangladeshi security forces used excessive force in responding to the student-led uprising.

The United Nations said there was ample evidence to suggest that unnecessary and excessive force was used against protesting students.
