Election results have come in Pakistan but no one has got the majority.
On one hand, Imran Khan has claimed to form his government by accusing the Election Commission of rigging, but in the meantime, Nawaz Sharif and the Pak Army have played the game. Dawn reports that candidates supporting Imran Khan are now changing their camps.
A candidate associated with Imran has joined hands with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the presence of Nawaz’s daughter Maryam. After the election results, Imran’s supporters changed sides and it became clear that Nawaz and the army are trying to form the government under any circumstances.
After the election results in Pakistan, the high voltage drama is not ending. Firstly, even after so many days of elections on 8th February, clear results have not emerged.
The results that came after this are not being digested by anyone. Imran Khan’s party claims that a night before his party had absolute majority but suddenly the results were reversed and now no one has the majority. However, independent candidates supporting Imran Khan have won big.
Among those supporting Imran Khan, 93 candidates have won. After that, Nawaz Sharif’s party is at second place with 74 seats.
Bilawal Bhutto’s party PPP is at third position with 54 seats. Now since no one has the majority, it is a matter of alliance here. On one hand, Imran Khan is not ready to form an alliance with anyone, while on the other hand, Nawaz Sharif is preparing to form an alliance with PPP.
Imran Khan’s loyalists are falling apart
Nawaz Sharif’s party is breaking the loyalists of Imran Khan. Nawaz Sharif’s party has claimed in a video released on social media that those supporting Imran Khan are coming with him.
The first number belongs to PTI supported candidate Wasim Qadir who won from NA-121 constituency of Lahore. He joined Nawaz Sharif’s party PML-N.
Speaking in a video posted by Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Qadir said I have returned to my home. In the video, he is seen with Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam.
On the other hand, PTI leader Barrister Gauhar Khan has said that all the politicians who changed allegiance in the past were completely rejected by the people in the February 8 elections.
Speaking to Geo News, he said that the party is considering the issue of PTI-backed independent Wasim Qadir joining the PML-N. He said, “The remaining independent candidates are in touch with us and will remain with us.”
