In Tamil Nadu, school holidays were declared due to heavy rains. Schools and colleges in Nagapattinam, Kilvelur taluk, Viluppuram and Cuddalore will remain closed today.

Apart from this, school holidays have been declared in Ranipet, Vellore, Kallakurichi and Tiruvannamalai. There may be moderate to heavy rain in many areas of the state today.

The Meteorological Department has also predicted light to moderate rain in Kerala and South Karnataka today. Not only the southern states, but also some parts of North India may receive heavy rain today.

According to the report, there are chances of rain in Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Eastern Gujarat, Goa and Lakshadweep today. At the same time, the minimum temperature of the national capital Delhi is expected to be between 8-9 degrees Celsius today.

It is expected to rain in some areas of Delhi on January 9. If we talk about UP, the cold day trend is going to continue there.

The minimum temperature in the capital Lucknow today may remain between 8-10 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of rain in some areas of UP on Tuesday.

Cold wave and fog continue to hit Rajasthan
Cold wave conditions persist in many parts of Rajasthan. Dense to very dense fog remained in some parts. The Meteorological Department said that due to the western disturbance being active in the state, there was light rain at isolated places in the districts of Udaipur and Kota divisions on Sunday. According to the department, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday and hailstorm is also expected at some places during this period.

According to Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the minimum temperature in Alwar was recorded at 3.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, which was the coldest place in the state. Whereas in Bhilwara the minimum temperature was 4.2 degree Celsius, in Erinpura Road and Jaisalmer it was 5 degree Celsius.

Entire Madhya Pradesh in the grip of cold and fog

Meteorological Center scientist Virendra Singh Yadav said that during the last 24 hours there was rainfall in the districts of Indore, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur and Sagar divisions. There was dense fog in Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Agarmalwa, Shajapur, Indore, Dewas, East Ujjain, Vidisha, Raisen, Panna and Katni.

Apart from this, there was moderate to light fog at many places, due to which normal life was affected. Western disturbance is coming from January 8, due to which there is no hope of relief from rain and cold for the next three days. Its maximum impact will be on the northern and western parts of the state, due to which rain is expected. The weather is likely to clear from January 11. After this the sun may shine, which is expected to provide some relief from the cold.
