Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to America’s newly elected President Donald Trump and congratulated him again on his victory in the presidential elections.
According to sources, both the leaders committed to work together for global peace.
During the conversation, President Trump praised Prime Minister Modi and said that the whole world loves him. He described India as a great country and PM Modi as a great leader.
President Trump considered PM Modi a true friend and said that PM Modi was one of the first world leaders to contact him after his election victory.
PM Modi said, “Had a fruitful conversation with my friend President Donald Trump, congratulated him on his spectacular victory.
“Look forward to working closely with President Trump once again to further strengthen India-US relations in technology, defense and other areas.”
According to sources, Trump told Prime Minister Modi that the whole world loves him, India is a wonderful country and he is a wonderful person.
Trump told Modi that he considered him and India true friends and that the Indian prime minister was one of the first global leaders he spoke to after his victory.
Earlier, while congratulating Trump in one of his posts on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Hearty congratulations to my friend Donald Trump on your historic election victory.
As you build on the successes of your past term, I look forward to further renewing our cooperation to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.
“Let us work together for the well-being of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity,” the Prime Minister said while calling on Trump.
Let us tell you that Trump and his Republican Party have secured a clear majority in the counting of votes in the US Presidential elections. Trump has won 277 seats as compared to 270 seats required for majority, while his rival Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris had to be satisfied with only 224 seats. The Republican Party has won 52 seats in the Senate compared to 42 seats of the Democratic Party and 199 seats compared to 181 in the House of Representatives.
