The woman who accused of casting couch was expelled from Congress, she had said- you have to impress…

The party has taken major action against the woman leader who accused of ‘casting couch’ and has removed her from the primary membership of the party.

Congress leader Simi Rosebel John had alleged that there is a ‘casting couch culture’ within the party. Here women have to make compromises to move forward.

She compared it to the allegations made in the film industry. Simi Rosewell said these things in a conversation with a TV channel recently.

In a release, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) said that action has been taken against Simi Rosebell John due to serious breach of discipline.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee claimed that SIMI was in connivance with political enemies and maligning the image of the party’s women workers.

According to a release issued by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, women leaders of the KPCC’s political affairs committee, women office bearers of the state Congress Committee and the head of the women’s wing of the Congress had jointly complained to the party leadership.

In this, action was requested against John, a former member of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). KPCC General Secretary M Liju said in a statement that based on this, Congress’ Kerala unit president K Sudhakaran took action against John.

Simi Rosebel John, a resident of Ernakulam, had given an interview to a private TV channel. In this, she had alleged that many times women leaders have to impress male leaders to move ahead in the party.

He also said that talent or experience is of no use here. Not only this, he also made allegations against many Congress workers.

SIMI had also accused opposition leader VD Satheeshan of sexual harassment. However, Satheeshan has denied these allegations.

It is worth noting that after the Justice Hema Committee report came out, the #MeToo movement is going on in the Kerala film industry. Many actresses have made allegations of sexual harassment and casting couch.
