The White House said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ukraine can prove helpful in establishing peace in the region.
Speaking to media persons, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that if PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine helps the peace proposal put forward by President Zelensky, then it will surely help in preventing the Russia-Ukraine war.
Indian PM Narendra Modi is on a three-day foreign visit to Poland and Ukraine. After reaching Poland on 21 August, PM Modi completed his pre-scheduled programs here and then he left for the Ukrainian capital Kyiv via a luxury train.
PM Modi, who arrived in Ukraine on August 23, was welcomed by President Zelensky with a hug.
After this, Zelensky informed PM Modi about the children killed in the Russian attacks and the destroyed cities. During this, the friendly style of PM Modi and President Zelensky became very viral on the internet.
Last month, when a picture of PM Modi hugging Russian President Putin during his visit to Russia went viral, Zelensky commented on it saying that the leader of the world’s largest democracy was hugging a child killer.

When media persons asked Zelensky about that comment on Friday, he said, I think the democratic world has to understand what is necessary or what is happening.
