On December 13 (Wednesday), the anniversary of the terrorist attack on Parliament, two people not only created a sensation by jumping from the audience gallery in the Lok Sabha but also created a new concern by creating a major breach in the security of the Parliament.
The investigation so far has revealed that there were not six but seven people behind this conspiracy. The mastermind of the group, Lalit Jha, has also been arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
According to preliminary investigation by security agencies, the breach was allegedly well-coordinated and carefully planned by seven people.
Six of the seven people have been arrested. According to police sources, in 2022, the gang’s mastermind Lalit Jha, 26-year-old Sagar Sharma and 34-year-old Manoranjan D met for the first time in Mysore, Karnataka and planned to enter Parliament to attract the attention of the country.
Later, 37-year-old Neelam Verma and 25-year-old Amol also joined the gang. A group of five people joined the Bhagat Singh fan page on Facebook.
Lalit Jha, the main conspirator behind this conspiracy, had reportedly asked Manoranjan to conduct a recce of the Parliament House in July earlier this year.
On Sunday, a group of five people met at the house of Gurugram resident Vishal Sharma and stayed there till Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, all five people left for Parliament House.
Manoranjan had already purchased the visitor pass through Mysore-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha. Sagar and Manoranjan entered the new Parliament House and the audience gallery.
At around 1:00 pm on Wednesday, Sagar jumped from the audience gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber carrying a smoke canister. Manoranjan also tried to jump and was seen hanging from the railing.
Both of them had hidden smoke cans inside their shoes. After jumping into the House, he released yellow colored gas from canisters in the Parliament. After this there was an uproar and both of them were caught by the MPs in the House and beaten. After this the MPs handed over both of them to the security personnel.
Around the same time, Neelam and Amol released gas from the same canisters and raised slogans outside the Parliament House. Meanwhile, Lalit recorded a video which later surfaced on Instagram. Neelam and Amol were caught by the police, while Lalit managed to escape at that time.
After this Sagar, Manoranjan, Neelam and Amol were taken to Sansad Marg police station. Delhi Police registered a case against all of them under the anti-terrorism law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Vishal and his wife were also taken into custody from Gurugram. Later the Special Cell of Delhi Police joined the investigation. On Thursday, Patiala House Court gave seven-day custody of the four accused to Delhi Police Special Cell.
The mastermind of the conspiracy, Lalit Mohan Jha, was arrested by the Special Cell from New Delhi late on Thursday night. Now the anti-terrorism unit Special Cell is investigating the case.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting on the Parliament security breach. BJP national president JP Nadda and Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Prahlad Joshi and Piyush Goyal were also present in the meeting.
