A two-minute silence will be observed on 30 January 2024 at 11 am in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in India’s freedom struggle.

It is noteworthy that this day is also the Nirvana Day of Mahatma Gandhi.

In this regard, the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Ministry Nava Raipur has issued a circular to all the department heads, all divisional commissioners, all collectors, CEOs of all district panchayats and other officers for successful organization of the event.

The circular said that a two-minute silence is to be observed at 11 am on January 30, 2024, and other work and activities should be stopped.

Wherever possible, the beginning and end of the two-minute silence period should be signaled by sounding a siren or by firing an army gun.

Appropriate instructions should be issued by the district administration to educational institutions and public sector undertakings regarding this event.

To spread the importance of this day, speeches and talks should be organized in hybrid or online mode on topics related to the role of freedom fighters in India’s independence and national integration.
