New Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in South India due to the low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, this area is expected to form in the next 36 hours, which may cause torrential rains in states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from November 12 to 15. This means that due to heavy rains on Devuthani Gyras, there is a danger of flood in many states. There has been heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the last 24 hours, due to which normal life has been affected. Also, dense fog has been recorded in parts of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, affecting visibility and causing problems in transportation.
Issuing a special warning, the Meteorological Department said that Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe may receive light to moderate rainfall between November 9 and 15, while extremely heavy rainfall at some places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala between November 12 and 15. There is a possibility of rain. An alert of heavy rain has also been issued in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema on 12 and 13 November. Also, dense fog is likely over Himachal Pradesh between November 10-12 and northwest Punjab between November 10-11, which may affect traffic in these areas.
The department has also given information about temperature. In states like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Gujarat, the minimum temperature has been recorded 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above the average. The lowest temperature recorded in the plains was 13.8 degrees Celsius in the Hindon region of western Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, the minimum temperature in the western Himalayan region is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the coming four-five days. Telangana is also likely to receive rain between November 12 and 15, with thunderstorms expected in some areas. The weather is likely to remain dry in this area for the next three days.
