BJP has won the Chandigarh Mayor election.
BJP candidate Manoj Sonkar won the post of Chandigarh Mayor by defeating AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar. AAP’s Chandigarh Mayor candidate Kuldeep Kumar cried after the results were announced.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said, “We in the opposition were 20 and they were 15. Now the thing to think about is how it happened that 20 people lost and 15 people won despite less numbers.
Mann alleges that according to those monitoring the elections, 8 of our people did not know how to vote, hence their votes were invalidated.
Whereas, all his 16 votes (including 1 MP) were correct. This only means that our people do not know how to vote, whereas many of them have voted last time also. Mann has accused BJP of killing democracy and has talked about going to court.”
