Forbes has released a new list of the world’s richest people. There are a total of 2,781 billionaires in the world in 2024, in which a record 200 Indians have got a place this time.
Last year this number was 169. The combined wealth of billionaire Indians is a record $954 billion, up 41 percent from last year’s $675 billion.
India’s richest woman remains Savitri Jindal, who is now India’s fourth richest person, up from sixth place a year ago.
His wealth is $33.5 billion. It is noteworthy that in 2005, Savitri Jindal’s husband and Jindal Group founder Om Prakash Jindal died. After this Savitri Jindal took over her husband’s business.
Ambani in 100 billion dollar club
Mukesh Ambani is the top richest man in India and Asia, his wealth increased from $83 billion to $116 billion, making him the first Asian to join the $100 billion club. He remains the ninth richest person in the world.
Gautam Adani is the second richest Indian. He is second in India and 17th in the world with a wealth of $84 billion.
Shiv Nadar ranks third in India with a net worth of $36.9 billion. Bernard Arnault and his family are number one in the world with a wealth of $233 billion.
25 new Indians included
25 new Indian billionaires have been included in the new Forbes list. The names of Naresh Trehan, Ramesh Kunhikannan and Renuka Jagtiani are among them.
Renuka is the chairperson of UAE retailing group Landmark and has a net worth of $4.8 billion. Byju Ravindran and Rohika Mistry have been left out from this list. Rohika is the wife of late Cyrus Mistry.
