Kazan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to Delhi after attending the BRICS Summit. This two-day visit was very important in terms of diplomacy, especially because PM Modi met prominent leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kazan Declaration was issued during the summit, in which seven important points were agreed upon among the BRICS countries. Issues like Ukraine-Russia conflict, the ongoing conflict between Israel-Hezbollah and Hamas were discussed. Furthermore, the leaders underlined the need for collective efforts emphasizing international peace and stability.
These seven major issues
1. Taking a clear dig at the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia and China, BRICS leaders talked about freeing the global economy from bondage. Also, any unilateral decision or action against any country on the basis of force was opposed.
2. BRICS talked about making the international system more flexible, efficient and accountable. It was also said that emerging developing countries should get a place in it. The least developed countries, especially Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, should get more participation.
3. BRICS countries also expressed grief over the deaths of civilians in conflict-torn areas of South Asia and Africa. Apart from this he talked about ending tension. Also, emphasis was laid on taking immediate measures to save people’s lives as per international laws.
4. BRICS leaders called for the adoption of a global biodiversity framework under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. PM Modi had also mentioned in his speech about planting ‘a tree in the name of mother’. Which can be part of this framework.
5. Recalling the achievements of BRICS countries in the field of nuclear medicine, the group announced the formation of a team. It has also launched BRICS Health Magazine for the first time. BRICS Medical Association has also been formed.
6. BRICS condemned Israel for attacks on people helping victims in Gaza. Referring to a resolution of the United Nations Security Council, he said that this should be stopped immediately.
7. African Solution to African Problem Principle was approved to solve the problems of African countries. It clearly states that this can help in ending the conflict in the continent. BRICS countries expressed concern over increasing violence in Sudan.
