The issue of arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Prabhu is gaining momentum in Bangladesh.

Chief Minister of India’s north-eastern state Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha has said that whoever has tried to harm Sanatan Dharma has been eliminated.

Protests have started in many parts of Bangladesh since the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu. He was arrested from Dhaka airport on Monday.

CM Saha said, ‘Sanatan Dharma is related to justice and values. History is witness to the fact that whoever has tried to harm Sanatan Dharma has himself been destroyed. Here, former CM Biplab Kumar Dev has demanded action at the international level. He said, ‘The ongoing attacks on Sanatan minorities, religious institutions and Sanatan sentiments in Bangladesh are completely undemocratic.’

He said that such incidents are a violation of the principles of human rights. Dev said, ‘I strongly condemn such incidents…’

Six people arrested for murder of lawyer in Bangladesh

At least six people were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of a lawyer in Chittagong city of Bangladesh.

This action has been taken in connection with the murder of a lawyer during a clash between followers of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari and the police.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police has arrested these six people on suspicion in connection with the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif.

Here on Tuesday, there was a fatal attack on the protesters during the violence that broke out after the denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna.

The press wing of the office of the Chief Adviser said six people have been identified through video footage. He said the CMP has detained 21 people for brutality and attack on police.
