After the change of power in Bangladesh, an anti-India wave is being seen in many places.
India has asked the Bangladeshi government to provide additional security at its visa centres after several people who had come to apply for tourist visas protested outside the Indian visa centre on Monday.
In this regard, Bangladesh Police officials said on Tuesday that security measures have been tightened in the Indian diplomatic area in Dhaka.

Many people applying for tourist visas in India protested outside the centre. People familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity that there was no vandalism of any kind.
But the protest could have turned violent. However, later, keeping security in mind, a large number of police forces were deployed there.
In view of the protests, the Indian High Commission wrote to the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry demanding increased security at all Indian centres across Bangladesh, in response to which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deployed police for security there.
Speaking to HT, the Dhaka police chief said security at all diplomatic centres in Dhaka has been beefed up following yesterday’s incident.

A video of visa applicants protesting at the Indian Visa Centre in Dhaka went viral on social media and Facebook on Monday. In the video, people can be seen raising anti-India slogans and demanding Indian visas.
People said that Monday’s protests have raised concerns about the security of Indian centres. After the change of power, some political parties and student organizations are continuously working to incite anti-India sentiments in the country.
He said that the Indian Visa Centre in Dhaka is currently issuing visas only to those Bangladeshi citizens who wish to travel to India for medical treatment or priority is being given to those students who have taken admission in various colleges in European countries. These students need to come to India because many European countries work from New Delhi for India and Bangladesh alike.
