Three suspects and Pakistani nationals have been caught in Peenya, Karnataka. Police have arrested the couple, while their 17-year-old daughter has been detained.
Some other Pakistanis caught earlier have given information about these people.
The police is running a campaign against such people who are living here using Hindu names. The couple arrested in the case is 53-year-old Syed Tariq and 48-year-old wife Aneela.
Police have recovered three mobile phones, Aadhar card, passport, PAN card and two voter ID cards from these people. All these were prepared on the basis of fake documents.
It is noteworthy that 48 year old Rashid Ali Siddiqui, living here under the name of Shankar Sharma, was arrested recently. He lived here with his Bangladeshi wife and her parents.
According to initial police investigation, Tariq’s family had come to India illegally eight years ago. Initially they were living in Kochi. He came to Bengaluru four years ago.
Tariq is a preacher and posts videos on YouTube. Whereas, his wife is a housewife. It is alleged that a person named Altaf Ahmed used to provide financial help to this family.
Altaf was arrested in Chennai along with his wife and two others. These people were caught with fake documents.
Police said that Altaf used to pay Rs 25,000 every month to Tariq for giving sermons according to Mehdi Foundation International.
Police are now finding out how the money received by illegal Pakistani immigrants was coming. Along with this, information is also being collected about other Pakistanis living illegally in Karnataka.
Sources said three suspected Pakistani nationals have been detained at a time when four people were arrested in Jigani on the outskirts of Bengaluru just a few days ago.
It was also revealed that they were using fake identity cards like the people caught in Jigani. Police sources said investigation is underway to identify other people settled in Karnataka and different parts of India.
