To stop the Russia-Ukraine war, the world is looking towards India with hope

Rome. India’s strength and status are clearly visible on the world map. Today, the whole world is looking towards India regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine, and believes that India is the only country that can establish peace here. Russian President Putin has already given indications of this. It is the wonder of PM Modi’s foreign policy that the top countries of the world, including America, believe that India can play an important role in ending this conflict. In this connection, a statement has also come from Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni. She said on Saturday that countries like India and China can play a role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Meloni’s remarks were made on Saturday at the Ambrosetti Forum in the city of Cernobbio in northern Italy, where she also held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Meloni’s statement comes at a time when Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday named India among the three countries with whom he is in touch regarding the Ukraine conflict and said that they are making sincere efforts to resolve the issue.
Meloni said, it is clear that if the rules of international law are broken, it will lead to chaos and crisis. I told the same thing to the Prime Minister of China. I think nations like China and India can and should play a role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Addressing the 9th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin also mentioned India’s role in resolving the issue. Putin had said, we respect our friends and partners, who I think are sincerely interested in resolving all issues related to the conflict (with Ukraine). I am in touch with the leaders of China, Brazil, India and I trust the leaders of these countries. They can play a role in resolving the problem. Meloni’s remarks came after his meeting with Zelensky on Saturday during the Ambrosetti Forum. There the two leaders discussed the latest developments.
In a separate statement, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said earlier this week that India can play a role in facilitating dialogue with Ukraine as Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicates freely with Putin, Zelensky and the US. It is worth noting that PM Modi visited Russia in July and then Ukraine in August, where he not only appealed to Putin to end the war, but also to Zelensky that the two countries should start talking without wasting time. During his visit to Moscow in July, Prime Minister Modi had extensive discussions with the Russian President to find a solution to end the conflict in Ukraine. Referring to the long-term friendship and good relations between the two countries, Putin also praised Prime Minister Modi’s initiative to end the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. During his talks with Zelensky in August the following month, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s principled position and commitment to a peaceful resolution of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. He also reiterated India’s readiness to contribute in all possible ways for the early return of peace in the region. After this, on August 26, PM Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden over the phone, where he informed Biden about his recent visit to Ukraine. He said that India has full support for bringing peace and stability. The very next day on August 27, PM Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone, where Ukraine’s destructive policy was assessed. Let us tell you that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s status has now reached a point where the world’s eyes are fixed on the largest democracy on any important issue. This is the reason why India is being looked upon with hope to end the Russia-Ukraine war that has been going on for more than 30 months.
