Enraged Iran vowed to take revenge
Iranian-owned channel Press TV confirmed Mousavi’s death. It paid tribute to Mousavi, identifying him as “a senior adviser” on Syria. According to Press TV, Mousavi was a close associate of former Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike in January 2020. On the other hand, Israeli media described Mousavi as the biggest target after Sulemani.

Meanwhile, Iran has vowed to avenge Mousavi’s killing.

“Undoubtedly, the brutal Zionist regime will suffer the consequences of this crime,” Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said in a statement read on Press TV. “This action is another sign of the frustration, helplessness and incompetence of the occupying Zionist regime,” he said.
