There are less than 2 months left for the US presidential election to be held in November.
In such a situation, the election campaign in America is in full swing. Meanwhile, Hindus living in America have told which of the two major parties they are supporting in this election.
An organization named Hindu for America First has announced that it will support Republican candidate Donald Trump in the elections.
Not only this, this group will start a campaign against Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in the states of Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina.
Announcing the decision on Thursday, Utsav Sanduja, president and founder of Hindus for America First, claimed that Harris’s victory in the election could worsen India-US relations.
He said, “The worry is that if Kamala becomes the President of America, she can bring forward some liberal people who will influence the Asian-American voters.” It is worth noting that the Biden-Harris administration has not secured the border.
He said Harris is the second-in-command after President Joe Biden and has done nothing to stop illegal immigration into the US.
He said, “Because of all these illegal immigrants, crime and drug trafficking have increased to record levels here and this is affecting the minority communities, especially many Asian-American business owners.”
Trump is a big supporter of India- Sanduja
On the other hand, Sanduja praised Trump’s efforts to make the immigration system more merit-based. He also praised the former president’s efforts to promote defense and technology cooperation with India.
Trump is a big supporter of the pro-India cause, he said, adding that he could have built a great relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and collaborated on several defence projects that would enable India to compete with China.
‘Trump did not interfere in the country’s internal affairs’
Sanduja said Harris has made derogatory comments about the Indian government and people several times, while Trump did not interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
“Kamala Harris will bring instability in India-US relations,” he claimed. He said Hindu For America First is campaigning against Harris among Hindus in states like Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Nevada.
Concerned about attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh
Sanduja said that the global Hindu community is concerned about the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. He said, “We will request all the concerned political institutions to raise this issue.”
He said, “I give a lot of credit to President Trump. Under his leadership, the State Department acknowledged the persecution of Hindus in various parts of the Indian subcontinent, such as Afghanistan, Pakistan. It was President Trump who acknowledged the Hindu genocide.”
