New York. America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has entrusted the responsibility of restructuring the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to his supporter Lee Geldin. During the presidential election campaign, Trump had promised to end the strict rules of the EPA, in this context, Zeldin has now been appointed to work. Trump said Zeldin, as Administrator of the EPA, will ensure fair and prompt decisions that help American businesses thrive.

This appointment comes at a time when the United Nations Climate Change Conference is starting in Baku, Azerbaijan, in which representatives of various countries are going to negotiate on measures to cut greenhouse gas emissions. Trump had previously threatened to pull out of the Paris climate accord, and now his new appointment is aimed at relaxing environmental rules.
