Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a historic one-day visit to Ukraine.
During this period, four agreements were signed between the two countries for cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry, medicine and health, community development and cultural exchange. These four agreements of cooperation were signed by both sides after the meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
A release issued at the end of Modi’s visit said that under cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry, both sides will expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry by promoting relations in the areas of exchange of information, joint scientific research, exchange of experience, cooperation in agricultural research, creation of joint working groups, etc.
The two sides signed an agreement between the Drugs Standard Control Organization of India and the Drugs and Drugs Control Service of Ukraine under a centralized agreement on enhancing cooperation in the trade of medical products.
The release said that both sides will cooperate in this regard through exchange of information, capacity building, mutual organization of workshops, training and visits. The agreement envisages cooperation in areas such as safety of medical products and improvement of their quality aspects.
The third agreement is for government-to-government cooperation in the field of implementation of high impact community development projects.
Under this, India will provide grant assistance for community development projects in Ukraine. For this, projects will be started in partnership with the Government of Ukraine.
The agreement between the Ministry of Culture of India and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine for cultural cooperation programmes for the period 2024-2028 will promote cultural exchange and cooperation between India and Ukraine in the fields of cultural theatre, music, fine arts, literature, library and museum affairs. The two sides will also cooperate with each other in the preservation and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to move forward on the path of dialogue and diplomacy to overcome this crisis without wasting time for the sake of peace and for this India is ready to play an active role and he himself is ready to contribute personally. During this, PM Modi gifted four ‘BHISHMA (India Health Initiative for Cooperation, Benefit and Friendship) Cubes’ to the Ukrainian government.
‘Bhishma Cube’ contains medicines and equipment to ensure primary healthcare or care for all types of injuries and medical conditions.
This also includes surgical equipment for the basic operation room that can ensure 10-15 basic surgeries per day.
The ‘Bhishma Cube’ has the capacity to treat about 200 patients suffering from various medical emergencies such as trauma, bleeding, burns, fractures, etc. It can also generate its own electricity and oxygen in limited quantities.
A team of several Indian experts has been deployed to provide initial training on operation of ‘Bhishma Cube’ to the Ukrainian medical team.
