Announcement of giving 30 crore rupees for the modernization of Chhattisgarh Police
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while reviewing the ongoing anti-Maoist terror operation in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states in Raipur, said that the Chhattisgarh government has achieved very good success on every front in the anti-Maoist terror operation in Chhattisgarh.
In the last eight months, the amount of work done in Chhattisgarh to stop Maoist terror has never been done before. Praising Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, he said that the area of Maoists has become very limited.
The Chhattisgarh government is taking very good action in the anti-Naxal campaign. The speed and effective action taken by the Chhattisgarh government in 8 months, in which 150 Maoist terrorists were neutralized and 4 times more people surrendered, has not happened anywhere in India till date. He gave instructions to further speed up this action.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that I constantly talk to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the Government of India will provide whatever help Chhattisgarh needs in the fight against Naxalites.
He stressed that central and state agencies should work together to break the financial links of Naxalites.
Tax agencies should also be sensitive and take action to break the financial links of Naxalites. Union Home Minister Shah also directed to run community awareness programs in Naxal-affected areas. He said that people should be given correct information about government schemes, processes and intent.
The Union Home Minister said that people should also be informed about the schemes of the Central Government. We have to ensure that there is 100% saturation of all the 300 schemes of the Centre and the State and their complete implementation.
It should be ensured that the problem does not arise again in the areas where Maoist terror has ended. People in these areas should be given 100% benefit of the schemes of the Central and State Governments.
He said that any armed movement can be ended only by creating trust in the government among the people. Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced Rs 30 crore for the modernization of Chhattisgarh Police.
Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Ashok Juneja gave a presentation on security arrangements in Naxal-affected areas, progress of anti-Maoist terror operations and future plans.
During the discussion on this, the Union Home Minister gave instructions to provide maximum facilities to the people of the Naxal-affected area.
He said that at present it is clear that more and more of the Maoists in Chhattisgarh want to surrender, we should have comprehensive information about the surrender scheme.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Directors General of IB, NIA, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and senior officials of the Central and State governments were present in the meeting.
