A case of massive clash has come to light between the Hindu community and the police in Bangladesh.
Hindu protesters are in anger after ISKCON Mahant Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested on treason charges.
After his arrest, Chinmoy Das addressed his supporters from the jail van outside the Dhaka court and said that we want a ‘united Bangladesh’. Das appealed to maintain peace and his men to continue the fight.

police brutality in bangladesh
During this, the police lathicharged the protesters, in which one person lost his life. According to Bangladesh Tribune report, six people were injured in the clash.
It is noteworthy that such protests are continuously intensifying in Bangladesh on the issues of violence and repression against minorities.
Foreign Ministry also expressed a strong stance
India today expressed deep concern over the situation in Bangladesh and appealed to the Government of Bangladesh to protect freedom of expression and rights of minorities.
“We have expressed deep concern over the arrest and denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement here on Tuesday. “This incident follows several attacks on Hindus and other minorities by extremist elements in Bangladesh.”
The Ministry of External Affairs said that several cases of arson and looting of houses and business establishments of minorities as well as theft and vandalism and desecration of deities and temples have been reported.
It is unfortunate that the perpetrators of these incidents are roaming free while charges are being leveled against a religious leader who was making legitimate demands through peaceful means.
The Ministry of External Affairs said, “We also express concern over the attacks on minorities protesting peacefully against the arrest of Das. “We urge the Bangladesh authorities to ensure the safety of Hindus and all minorities, including their right to freedom of peaceful assembly and expression.”
