Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Saturday that going abroad is a new disease affecting the children of the country.

He said this is “foreign exchange drain and brain drain”.

The Vice President said that commercialization of education is adversely affecting its quality, which is not good for the future of the country.

Speaking at a function organized by a private educational institution in Sikar, Rajasthan, Dhankhar said, “There is another new disease among children – going abroad.

The child enthusiastically wants to go abroad, he sees a new dream; But he has no idea about which institution he is going to, which country he is going to.”

Expressing concern over ‘commercialization’ of education, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday said that it has adversely affected the quality of education of children.

He said that investing in education is like investing in the future, economic growth, peace and stability.

He said, “Commercialization of education has affected its quality. Education was never a source of income, it was a medium of sacrifice and charity, aimed at helping the society but we see that it is being sold for profit. In some cases, it is taking the form of extortion.”

There is another new disease among children – going abroad.

The child enthusiastically wants to go abroad, he sees a new dream; But there is no assessment as to which institution he is going to and which country he is going to.

According to the official statement, he said, “If you look at educational institutions through the lens of financial gain, your objective will be blurred. We need to not let this happen. It will be my insistence that the money of the organization should be used only for the development of the organization.”

He said, “Our resolve should be that when India becomes a developed nation in 2047, we should be the ‘Super Knowledge Power’ of the world.”

The Vice President appealed to people in trade, industry, commerce and business world to contribute generously to the development of institutions.

“Investing in education is an investment in our future, economic growth, peace and stability,” he said. Dhankhar said, “Today there is a need to create awareness among the youth about the ever-increasing opportunities.”

The Vice President said, “Today India has great importance in the world. Today, India’s voice is louder than ever at the global level. In such a situation, every person should have the belief and loyalty that we have to trust our nation. In every situation we must put the nation first.”

He said that political, personal or economic interests should not be placed before the nation and it is our responsibility to neutralize anti-national forces.
