Sanjivani will inaugurate three immunobooster products of paddy developed by Agricultural University.
Two seminars focused on agricultural startups and nutrition and public health will be inaugurated.
Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar will attend the 38th Foundation Day celebrations of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University as the Chief Guest on 20 January.
The ceremony will be presided over by Chhattisgarh Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam and Raipur MP Sunil Soni, Dharsiwa MLA Anuj Sharma and Raipur Rural MLA Motilal Sahu will also be present as special guests in the ceremony.
University developed immunobooster and anti-cancer variety of paddy ‘Sanjeevani’
On this occasion, Vice President Shri Dhankhar will also inaugurate three products Sanjeevani Instant, Sanjeevani Madhu Kalk and Sanjeevani Rice Bar made from the new variety of immunobooster and anti-cancer paddy ‘Sanjeevani’.
The new variety of paddy ‘Sanjeevani’ has been developed by the research done by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
On this occasion, the Vice President will also inaugurate two one-day seminars organized by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, one of which will focus on startups, innovation and entrepreneurship development in the field of agriculture and the other seminar will focus on agriculture, nutrition and public health. On this occasion, Shri Dhankhar will also release the farmer-friendly “Krishi Darshika 2024” published by the Agricultural University.
It is noteworthy that the scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University have developed Sanjeevani by selection from the traditional native medicinal paddy varieties of Chhattisgarh.
After detailed analysis of the scientific basis of its medicinal properties, a species has been developed which is capable of increasing the body’s immunity and after using it for just 10 days, a significant increase in immunity has been observed.
This variety has been developed through research done for the last six years in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
In the foundation day ceremony, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. Girish Chandel, Registrar G.K. Senior administrative officers of the University including Nirmaam, senior officers of various government departments, progressive farmers and a large number of students will be present.
It is noteworthy that Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur was established on 20 January 1987. This university has been given the responsibility of agricultural education, research and extension in Chhattisgarh state, which the university is running through its 28 colleges, 08 research centers and 27 agricultural science centres.
After the establishment of the university, about 162 species of 52 crops have been developed and more than 100 technologies have been developed to get maximum benefits from agriculture.
