38th foundation day of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University concluded in the chief guestship of the Vice President
Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, while addressing the 38th Foundation Day of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University today, said that if our farmers are happy then the country will be happy.
For farmers, farming is not only a means of livelihood but also the basis of boosting the country’s economy, environmental protection and social development.
While congratulating the Annadatas, Shri Dhankhar said that by adopting modern technology in the field of agriculture and providing support to the farmers, the goal of ensuring food security to the coming generations and making a developed India by 2047 can be achieved.

The function was presided over by Governor Shri Vishwabhushan Harichandan. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Agriculture Minister Ram Vichar Netam were also present at the function as special guests.
On this occasion, Vice President Shri Dhankhar inaugurated three products Sanjeevani Instant, Sanjeevani Madhu Kalk and Sanjeevani Rice Bar made from the immunobooster and anti-cancer new variety of paddy ‘Sanjeevani’ developed by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.

He also released the Agricultural Guide 2024 published by the university.
Before this, Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar inspected various stalls set up by Agriculture Startup, Biotech and Krishi Vigyan Kendra in the university campus and along with Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, planted the sapling of Maulshree in the university campus.

He said that Chhattisgarh is a tribal dominated state and rich in natural resources. It should be ensured that the people here get full benefit of these resources.

The university has a strong network of agricultural colleges, research centers and agricultural science centers from Balrampur in the north to Sukma in the south. With the help of this network, the university is playing an important role in the agricultural development of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has guaranteed a happy life to the people of Chhattisgarh. Their guarantee is for every section of the society. We have started fulfilling these guarantees.
On the very next day after assuming the responsibility of the post of Chief Minister, a cabinet meeting was held and the decision was taken to approve the construction of houses for 18 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Fulfilling Modi ji’s guarantee, we are purchasing 21 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal.
Currently, the payment for the paddy being purchased is being made as per the support price, soon the farmers will also be paid the difference amount.
He said that as per the guarantee of Modi ji, on the occasion of Good Governance Day, the birthday of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the amount of two years’ outstanding paddy bonus amounting to Rs 3716 crore was transferred to the bank accounts of 12 lakh farmers. Is.
He said that as per Modi ji’s guarantee, we will also provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 every year to agricultural labourers.
Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women will be started soon. In which he will receive Rs 12,000 per year. He appealed to the students to use their education and skills to establish new enterprises.
