The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a warrant against an Indian citizen for conspiring to murder Khalistan supporter Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.
The name of this person is Vikas Yadav who is said to be a former Indian government employee. The Ministry of External Affairs has made it clear that the accused is no longer an employee of the Government of India.
Meanwhile, an Indian Express report claimed that the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested Vikas Yadav in an extortion case.
In November last year, Vikas Yadav’s name was mentioned as a co-conspirator in the documents of the US Justice Department.
About three weeks later he was arrested in India. Citing records, it was told that Vikas was released on bail in April this year.
According to the report, on December 18, 2023, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had arrested Vikas Yadav on the basis of the FIR lodged by a resident of Rohini.
He was facing serious charges like extortion and kidnapping. Additionally, claims were also made about his links with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The complainant said that he earlier ran an IT company. He had relations with many Indians living in West Asia. He said, ‘Last year in November, my friend introduced me to Yadav as a senior government official. We shared numbers. We became good friends.
The plan was to extort money by kidnapping
According to the senior officer, Vikas Yadav told the police that his father was working in the Border Security Force (BSF). He died in the year 2007. Yadav got married in the year 2015. In this case he had met the complainant at a social function.
He planned to earn money after kidnapping her. Vikas Yadav had an associate, who was a car dealer at that time.
He told the police that he had suffered a lot of loss in his business. So he decided to be a part of Yadav’s plan.
These things are written in the charge sheet. The complainant said that he contacted the police after being kidnapped by Vikas Yadav and his associate. This is the incident of December 17 last year.
