The process of receiving threats to blow up planes did not stop. On Friday, a Vistara flight (UK17) from Delhi to London was diverted to Frankfurt after a bomb threat was received. After this, emergency landing of the flight was done in Frankfurt.
On Saturday morning an airline spokesperson said the flight landed safely at Frankfurt Airport and mandatory checks were being carried out. After getting clearance from the security agencies, the flight will take off for its destination.
An Akasa Air flight received a threat on Friday
Meanwhile, Akasa Air said its flight QP 1366, which flew from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, had received a security alert shortly before departure.
In the last few days, 40 flights have received bomb threats. However, all the threats turned out to be rumours.
Indian government expressed concern
The Civil Aviation Ministry is planning to make strict rules for airlines to prevent incidents of false bomb threats, including putting the perpetrators on the no-fly list.
Strict action will be taken against those who threaten
Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu expressed concern over the threat to bomb the flight. He said the ministry is considering amending the rules to ensure that strict action is taken against incidents of bomb threats to airlines.
He denied the possibility of any major conspiracy behind these incidents. Mumbai Police has registered seven cases in this regard in three days.
10 Social Media Handled Blocks
Around 10 social media handles that issued bomb threats to flights have been suspended or blocked by cyber security agencies. Sources said orders to suspend these handles were issued after an analysis by a joint team of cyber, aviation security and intelligence agencies as they were spreading rumours. Most of these accounts were on X.
The minor had threatened to blow up with a bomb!
A few days ago, an Air India plane going from Mumbai to New York was threatened with a bomb. In this connection, Mumbai Police went to Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and took a minor into custody.
A 17-year-old minor from the Agarwal family, resident of Sun City, had spread the rumor about a bomb in the plane through social media.
