An Israeli bomb on Palestinians waiting for help on a coastal road west of Gaza City on Thursday killed 140 people and injured 250 others. Palestinian medical sources and eyewitnesses have given this information.
He said at least 104 people were killed and 700 others were injured in the Israeli bombing.
He said the dead and injured were transferred to Al-Shifa hospital, which lacks medical equipment and capabilities. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.
Witnesses reported that Israeli forces targeted a gathering of civilians on al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, resulting in a large number of deaths.
At the same time, Israeli sources have confirmed that soldiers opened fire on the crowd believing that they were posing a threat. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has called it genocide.
The crowd reached the tanks for help
A witness told news agency AFP that the violence unfolded as thousands of people desperate for food rushed towards aid trucks at the city’s western Nabulsi intersection.
“The trucks that came to help came very close to some of the army tanks present in the area,” said a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to security reasons. A crowd of thousands of people attacked the trucks. “When people came too close to the tanks, the soldiers fired into the crowd.”
The Israeli military initially said that as aid trucks entered the northern Gaza Strip, people surrounded the trucks and looted relief supplies.
