In his address to the National Assembly soon after being elected as Prime Minister for the second time after 2022, Shahbaz said his government will not allow the country to become part of any “big game” and will work towards cordial relations with neighbors on the principles of equality. However, Shahbaz raised the Kashmir issue and compared it with Palestine. Relations between India and Pakistan became strained after the 2016 terrorist attack on Pathankot Air Force base by Pakistan-based terrorist groups.
