PM Modi is going on a visit to Poland and Ukraine between 21st and 23rd August.
It is not safe to travel by airplane in war-torn Ukraine due to air strikes, so PM Modi will travel in the luxury train Force One to reach Kyiv.
Many global leaders like Biden, Macron, Olaf Scholz and many others have traveled by this train. Train Force One is a train designed with state-of-the-art security methods.
It has been built by the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia. PM Modi will have to travel for 10 hours in this train to reach Kiev.
Although it is a long distance, this train has all the facilities to ensure the comfort of a big leader like PM Modi. The interior of this train is also well designed, which makes it even more special.
Biden wrote a thank you note after the trip
When US President Biden came to visit Kiev, he traveled by this train. After traveling by train for 20 hours, Biden praised the train’s service and also gave his thank you note to the crew.
These luxury trains were initially built for tourists visiting Crimea. But when Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, they were again used for different purposes.
After Russia’s attack on Ukraine, when road and air routes became unsafe, this train became the safest means to bring global leaders to Ukraine.
A historic journey of PM Modi by train
Countries around the world will be watching PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine. When PM Modi visited Russia last month, Western countries saw it from a different perspective.
PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine after his visit to Russia is a balancing visit. Because India has remained neutral in this war and has always advocated a peaceful solution. PM Modi’s travel by train in this important visit makes it more historic.
According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, PM Modi will leave for Ukraine on August 22 after his meetings in Poland on August 21.
He will reach Kiev on the morning of 23 August and will meet President Zelensky there, then he will return to Poland by the same train. During this time PM Modi will stay in Ukraine for about 7 hours.
