Recently in Britain, an 11-year-old child died at a friend’s house during a chroming challenge.
This child named Tommy-Lee Gracie Billington was playing the new social media trade chroming challenge with his friend at his own home, when he had a heart attack and died.
According to the deceased child’s grandmother, “He died soon after sleeping at a friend’s house. After the boys tried out the TikTok craze of ‘chroming’, Tommy-Lee suffered a heart attack and died instantly. The hospital tried hard to save him but to no avail.”
What is ‘Chroming Challenge’
The Chroming Challenge is a risky TikTok game in which kids use dangerous household chemicals.
Children smell chemicals while playing and sleep. For example, children take liquids like nail polish remover, hairspray, deodorant, lighter fluid, gasoline, paint thinner, spray paint or permanent marker in this challenge.
According to the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, the use of such intoxicants creates excitement in children but there is a fear that it may put their lives in danger.
According to doctors, this is dangerous and causes dizziness, vomiting, heart attack and bread damage in children.
During this game, when children use these chemicals to take long breaths, the chemicals enter the blood through the lungs, which affects various vital organs of the body. Its effect can range from partial to severe.
According to the Australia-based Alcohol and Drug Foundation, regular use of inhalants leads a person to depression and anxiety and becomes addicted to drug abuse.
