We have discussed among ourselves and decided to change the post of CP after 4 pm tomorrow. The new CP will take charge.

The Chief Minister announced the decision to transfer Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and three others. He said that a decision has been taken to transfer Kolkata Police Commissioner and DC North. At the same time, the government has decided to remove two health officials.

42 people signed on behalf of junior doctors

After the meeting, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that 42 people have signed on behalf of the junior doctors. Chief Secretary Manoj Pant signed on behalf of the state administration. Mamata Banerjee said that their (junior doctors) first demand was justice. The CBI is investigating it. The Supreme Court is monitoring it. It is not in our hands. The remaining 4 claims have been discussed. She named three people from the health sector.

The Chief Minister also said that the development of the hospital will be looked into. This too has been discussed. Permission has been given to form a committee. The meeting was fruitful. If it is not so, then why did they (junior doctors) sign, why did we sign. They can go and discuss. But I have appealed to them to return to work.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “We tried to listen to the junior doctors…we have decided to change the DC (Kolkata Police Commissioner)…he himself agreed to resign…In the health department, they demanded the removal of 3 people and we agreed to 2. We agreed 99%, what else can we do? We have requested the junior doctors to come back to work so that common citizens do not face problems…”
