When ED and CBI fell behind, they bought electoral bonds in a hurry, 16 companies squandered their wealth…

After the order of the Supreme Court, many information related to electoral bonds has come to the public.

After the data released on the website of the Election Commission, it has been revealed that there are at least 26 such companies purchasing electoral bonds which were on the radar of the investigating agencies.

After the investigation agencies started taking action, 16 of these companies started donating to political parties through electoral bonds.

According to the report of Indian Express, 37.34 percent of the donations received through electoral bonds by BJP and other political parties came from these companies.

According to the report, between April 2019 and February 2024, these 26 companies alone bought bonds worth more than Rs 700 crore. At the same time, after coming on the radar of investigating agencies, there was a rise in buying of electoral bonds. Of these, there are 10 companies which bought bonds worth more than Rs 100 crore each.

Lottery king Santiago Martin’s Future Gaming, which bought the maximum number of electoral bonds, had not bought a single bond before the ED action.

When the investigating agency attacked, it donated Rs 503 crore to DMK. Apart from this, a donation of Rs 542 crore was also given to TMC.

BJP also got Rs 100 crore from Future Gaming. Let us tell you that the business of Future Gaming was doing well in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

Haldia Energy increased the purchase of electoral bonds by 16 times after coming on the radar of the Central Investigation Agency. The company first purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 22 crore, out of which it gave Rs 16 crore to BJP and Rs 6 crore to TMC.

After the action of the investigating agency, the company bought bonds worth Rs 355 crore, out of which 175 crores went to BJP and 65 crores to TMC. Let us tell you that in July 2019, ED had attached assets worth Rs 250 crore of Future Gaming.

After this, for the first time in October 2020, the company purchased electoral bonds. For the first time, it had purchased electoral bonds worth Rs 50 crore for BJP.

According to PTI report, there are 41 such companies which were on the radar of some agency or the other. These companies only donated Rs 1698 crore to BJP through electoral bonds.

Similarly, Keventer had earlier purchased bonds worth Rs 380 crore and after the action of the investigating agency, bought electoral bonds worth Rs 192.4 crore.

It had donated Rs 320 crore to BJP and Rs 30 crore to Congress. After the action, another donation of Rs 91 crore was given to Congress. Vedanta had also donated Rs 52.65 crore before coming under the radar of the agency.

After the action, electoral bonds worth Rs 347.7 crore were purchased. Talking about Haldia Energy, before the action it had purchased bonds worth only Rs 22 crore. After the action, bonds worth Rs 355 crore were bought.

It donated the most to TMC. In 2020, CBI had registered a corruption case against the company.
