It is about the beginning of 2019. At that time, the injury of Pulwama attack to India was very fresh.
Its wires were connected to Pakistan. During that time, India’s aggressive diplomacy had forced Pakistan to tremble.
There were reports that 9 missiles had been prepared by India towards Pakistan and even the then Wazir-e-Azam Imran Khan was frightened by this.
The then High Commissioner of India Ajay Bisaria wrote the book Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship Between India and Pakistan I have revealed many important things.
Imran Khan wanted to talk to PM Modi
Actually, this story is from 27 February 2019. Then Pakistan had captured Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman in the Indian Air Force.
However, due to India’s strategy, he was released in just two days. Bisaria has told in his book that he had received a call late night from Pakistan High Commissioner Suhail Mahmood, who was saying that Khan now wants to talk to Modi.
In a rally in 2019, PM Modi had also indicated preparations for major action. He said that Pakistan had released the pilot, otherwise that night would have been a night of murder.
After this Bisaria contacted Delhi and told Mahmood that PM Modi is not available to talk right now. It was also told that any important matter can be told to the High Commissioner.
However, after this Mahmood did not call Bisaria again. The special thing is that PM Modi himself later called it ‘the night of murder’.
Ruckus in Pakistan Parliament the very next day
On the morning of 28 February, Khan announced in Parliament the resignation of Vardhaman. Khan also told that he was trying to talk to PM Modi.
At that time, many diplomats from the West, including the US and Britain, had already told Islamabad how serious India’s threat was if anything happened to Varthaman.
It is told in the book that Pakistan was really scared and had summoned these diplomats thrice.
Pakistan had to come to its senses
It is reported that some of these diplomats called the Foreign Secretary of India late at night and told that Pakistan is ready to release Vardhaman.
Not only this, it was told that it is ready to take action on the issue of terrorism also. Then the Indian officer was informed that Khan would announce his release in Parliament.
Then the phone rang late at night
After a few months, Bisaria again got a call at around 2 am in the night. This time there was a contact source close to ISI on the other side.
He had alerted the Indian High Commissioner about Al Qaeda’s planning of the attack, which the terrorist organization was carrying out as a revenge for the killing of Zakir Musa.
It is reported that then ISI, along with talks at the military level, also wanted the High Commissioner to convey it to the Government of India.
Bisaria explains that this input was either an indication that Pakistan did not want another Pulwama-like attack or Bajwa was then preparing to improve the atmosphere before the SCO summit held in June.
