Washington. US Presidential candidate and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris recalled the moments spent with her grandparents in India. She wished National Grandparents Day by sharing a childhood photo with her grandparents in a post on Instagram. Harris wrote- When I was a little girl, I used to visit my grandparents in India. Then my grandfather used to take me for a morning walk. During this, he used to tell about the importance of equality and fighting against corruption. He was a retired civil servant who was a part of India’s freedom movement. That is why today I am against corruption.
Harris further wrote- My grandmother traveled across India with a loudspeaker in her hand to talk to women about birth control. Her commitment to public service and fighting for a better future is still alive in me. Happy National Grandparents Day to all the grandparents who help inspire the next generation.
