When does Chief Justice Chandrachud wake up in the morning?
Chief Justice DY Chandrachud told NDTV during an interview that a normal day for him starts at 3.30 in the morning.
The Chief Justice said, “At 3.30 in the morning the atmosphere is calm. At that time I can think about things and do yoga. I have been doing yoga for 25 years.”
Who is CJI’s best friend, veg or non-veg?
The Chief Justice said, his best friend is his wife Kalpana Das. He said that he takes Ayurvedic diet with his wife.
Chief Justice Chandrachud said, “We both are vegetarians, and our lifestyle is plant-based. I think whatever we eat affects our brain.
I think your fitness comes from within you, from your mind, from your heart. You can be as fit as you want.”
CJI said, “My life is no different from the lives of other people. There are ups and downs in it. I have seen many aspects of life like others. There should always be hope for recovery from any problem. It is important to understand that every difficulty has a purpose. You won’t know about it then, but you will find out later.”
CJI does not like whole grains
The Chief Justice also gave some suggestions regarding healthy eating. He said, “I prefer to eat Ramdana (Amaranth) rather than whole grains. In Maharashtra, during fasting days, Sabudana Khichdi is made, so I eat Ramdana. I have been fasting every Monday for the last 25 years. Ramdana is widely eaten in Maharashtra. “It is a very light food and one of the healthiest foods.”
Does Chief Justice Chandrachud also have a cheat day? To this he replied, “Yes, I like ice cream on my cheat day.” He said, “If you control your mind, half of your problems will be solved.”
Chief Justice Chandrachud took charge as CJI in November 2022. His tenure is of two years. His father, Chief Justice YV Chandrachud, was the longest serving Chief Justice of India.
