Who was there, died in Russia… – NNSP

Hyderabad resident Mohammad Asfan along with two other youths from Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir had reached Russia in November last year.

He was promised a job as an assistant in Russian government offices by the agents.

Asfan last spoke to his family on December 31, 2023. After this, on March 6, the Indian Embassy in Moscow confirmed his death.

The Indian Embassy said, “We have learned about the tragic death of Mohammad Asfan, an Indian national. We are in touch with the family and Russian authorities. The mission will make efforts to send his mortal remains to India.”

Mohammad Asfan’s brother Mohammad Imran has expressed concern over the confirmation of his brother’s death and said that the agents who were involved in framing Asfan should be arrested.

Who was Mohammad Asfaan?
According to Mohammad Imran, one of the agents has an office in Dubai. He runs a vlog called Baba Vlogs. Two others are from Mumbai.

He had taken Rs 3 lakh from everyone. After reaching Moscow, Mohammad Asfan and two others were made to sign a document in Russian. Mohammad Imran claimed that he later realized that he had been recruited as a helper in the Russian army.

Mohammad Imran said, “Mohammad Asfan had contacted the agents and told them that he was being trained to use weapons. The agents again lied to him that it was all a part of the job. The youth were later taken to the Russia-Ukraine border.”

Mohammad Imran said that when he recently contacted the agents, they said that Asfan’s agreement had been cancelled. He was also told that Mohammad Asfan was injured.

AIMIM sources told news agency PTI that for the last few days, Mohammad Asfan’s family had been repeatedly contacting them in this regard.

After this Asaduddin Owaisi contacted the Indian Embassy in Moscow. An official of the Indian Embassy in Moscow informed Asaduddin Owaisi about Asfan’s death.

Mohammad Imran claimed that the agents in contact with him in Russia are saying that Mohammad Asfan is alive and in the Marinka region of Ukraine. He said that a friend of his brother in Russia told him that his brother had been shot.

He said, “We received the news of his injury on January 23. One of his friends, Arbab Hussain, told me about his shooting through voice message.

I suspect misinformation about his death. We can only trust the embassy, not the agents. But agents are saying that he is alive. If this is true then we want justice.

Hyderabad MP Owaisi had requested the Central Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to hold talks with the Russian government to bring the youth back to India safely.

He also claimed that two batches of people were sent to Russia from across the country. On Wednesday, the External Affairs Ministry said they were in touch with the family and Russian authorities and were making efforts to send his mortal remains to India.
