PMLA Court has sent Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on ED remand for 6 days (till March 28) in the liquor scam case.
ED had asked for his remand for 10 days. Let us tell you that on March 21, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested from the Chief Minister’s residence itself.
Arvind Kejriwal said, he did not expect that ED would arrest him so soon. He also said that he would not resign from his post. If necessary, we will run the government from jail itself.
After reaching the court premises, Arvind Kejriwal also praised the ED officers and said that the behavior of the officers was good towards him.
He behaved respectfully. According to India Today report, Arvind Kejriwal said, I was sitting with my parents when the ED team arrived to arrest me. I did not even get a chance to take blessings from my parents and left with the ED team.
After his arrest, Arvind Kejriwal was produced in Rouse Avenue Court. The court said that custodial interrogation is necessary to understand the digital devices and other evidence during the investigation and to complete the investigation process.
PMLA Court’s Special Judge Justice Kaveri Bajwa said that Arvind Kejriwal should be presented in the court at 2 pm on March 28.
Arvind Kejriwal said after his arrest, my life is dedicated to the country. Whether I am inside or outside the jail.
Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita has said that out of arrogance of power, the Central Government has arrested the Chief Minister elected by the people thrice.
The government wants to completely eliminate the opposition. Arvind Kejriwal is also getting support from the opposition.
Congress has also criticized this step of ED and said that such arrest just before the elections is revealing the intentions of BJP.
