Dhaka. The way for the formation of an interim government in Bangladesh has been cleared. The new government will be sworn in on Thursday evening under the leadership of Professor Muhammad Yunus. In an article before the oath, Yunus has mentioned bilateral relations with India and said that many opportunities will soon come to resume close friendship with India. But he said that India supported Sheikh Hasina, which is not in line with the sentiments of the people of Bangladesh. This has somehow caused a rift in the relationship between the two countries.
According to the report, Yunus said, however, some countries like India supported Sheikh Hasina, as a result of which she has earned the displeasure of the Bangladeshi people. This has created some cracks in the relationship, by fixing which we will have many opportunities in the coming time to improve bilateral relations and resume close friendship with India. Yunus said that the coming of the new government in Bangladesh will increase the strength of the country in the world. Yunus said that the next step of the interim government will be to release all political prisoners and ensure that free and fair elections are held in a few months. He said that I am ready to help support this process and I hope that others can also join me.
Nobel laureate Yunus, who is set to lead Bangladesh’s interim government, is an economist and banker. He was awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for his work in developing the microcredit market. Yunus was praised for lifting thousands of people out of poverty through the Grameen Bank, which he founded in 1983.
