New Delhi. A video of the court hearing is going viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that the woman’s lawyer is pleading for a monthly alimony of Rs 6 lakh from her husband. The woman’s lawyer named Radha Munukuntla told the court that she needs Rs 15,000 per month for shoes, clothes, bangles etc. and Rs 60,000 every month for food at home. The woman’s lawyer told the court that she needs four to five lakh rupees for the treatment of knee pain and physiotherapy and other medicines.
During the hearing, the judge said that this is exploitation of the court process. The judge said that if she wants to spend so much money, she can earn it. The judge said- Don’t tell the court that this is all a person needs. Rs 6,16,300 per month. Does anyone spend this much? That too a single woman for herself.
The judge further said that if she wants to spend then let her earn. How can you not depend on your husband. You have no other responsibility in the family. You don’t need to take care of the children. You want this for yourself. You should be sensitive. The judge told the woman’s lawyer to demand a reasonable amount or else her petition will be dismissed.
The matter of Radha not filing the details of expenses was heard on August 20. On September 30, 2023, the Additional Chief Justice of the Family Court of Bengaluru ordered her to get a monthly maintenance amount of Rs 50,000 from her husband M Narasimha. She approached the High Court requesting an increase in the interim maintenance amount.
