Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh Mohammad Yunus has met with International Criminal Court (ICC) lawyer Karim AA Khan.

During the meeting, Khan informed Yunus about the latest developments in the investigation into Rohingya deportations initiated by the ICC in 2019.
The ICC prosecutor said he would visit Bangladesh later this year. He praised Yunus’ three-point proposal for bringing a new momentum to resolve the Rohingya crisis.

The resolution calls for an urgent conference convened by the UN chief to review the situation and suggest ways out, a proactive joint response plan to the Rohingya humanitarian crisis, and justice and security to address genocidal crimes committed in Rakhine in 2017.
