Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will reach the Lok Sabha as a parliamentarian for the first time today.
She will take oath as MP after winning from Wayanad seat in Kerala. With this, she will join her mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi in Parliament.
With this, the Gandhi family clan will become stronger in Parliament. Apart from the Gandhi family, there are many such families, many of whose members are in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
These families include Akhilesh Yadav from UP, his wife Dimple Yadav, nephew Tej Pratap Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav from Badaun, Akshay Yadav from Firozabad.
Akhilesh Yadav and his family also have relations with Lalu Yadav. Similarly, Bihar’s Purnia seat MP Pappu Yadav and his wife Ranjita Ranjan are also Rajya Sabha MPs.
Ranjita Ranjan was sent to Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh seat in 2022 itself. Sonia Gandhi, who was the MP from Rae Bareli for a long time, is also now in the Rajya Sabha, while her son and daughter are now members of the Lok Sabha.
Sharad Pawar is also a Rajya Sabha MP, while his daughter Supriya Sule is a member from Baramati Lok Sabha seat. However, Sharad Pawar’s Rajya Sabha tenure is now nearing its end.
Three MLAs from Lalu Yadav family in Bihar too
Not only this, Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle Ram Gopal Yadav is also a member of Rajya Sabha. Shivpal Yadav is a member of the UP Assembly.
If we look at the families in the assemblies, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and their mother Rabri Devi are MLAs in Bihar. Tejashwi is also the leader of opposition at present, who has been the Deputy CM of the state twice.
