Hapur. The number of devotees coming to Kartik Purnima Ganga Fair is continuously increasing. In such a situation, the risk of molestation or other incidents happening against women has increased. To deal with this problem and arrest the miscreants, SP has deployed seven teams of Anti Romeo Squad. The women policemen included in the team will visit the fair in plain clothes and teach a lesson to the miscreants. SP Gyananjay Singh said that a large number of devotees are arriving at the Kartik Purnima Ganga fair. People are living in tents with the girls and women of their families. In such a situation, strict arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident with the woman. Seven anti-Romeo teams have been formed to curb incidents of tampering in the fair. Each team will have five policemen including a female sub-inspector. Team members will be deployed in plain clothes and take action against miscreants. One team will be on duty during the day. While the other team will take action against miscreants during night time.
Incidents of theft and robbery along with tampering will be curbed.
This system will curb incidents of tampering along with snatching of chains, purses and mobile phones. Also the devotees will feel security. WhatsApp numbers have also been issued to send information about molestation to the police team. Any woman or girl can give information related to crime by telling the place of her presence through WhatsApp. The identity of the victim giving information will be kept secret.
