Arguments and debates take place frequently in Parliament.
But what is happening in the Parliament of Maldives is quite surprising in itself. Here, not only kicking and punching took place in the Parliament, but the MPs also picked up each other and threw them on the ground.
Its video is going viral on social media. In the viral video, it is seen that one MP is pulling the other by holding his leg.
All this has happened for the voting on Muizzu cabinet. Actually, voting for the cabinet was going to take place here on Sunday.
But the opposition party said it would withhold approval of the four ministers. The ruling party came out against this and a scuffle broke out.
Voting was to take place
Today in Maldives, voting was to be held in the Parliament on Muizzu’s cabinet. The time for this was fixed for Sunday afternoon. When the opposition asked to stop it, the ruling MPs stopped the proceedings.
These people also reached the speaker’s room. Not only this, it was planted in the House and voting cards were also snatched. Government supporters are protesting outside the Parliament.
These people demand that cabinet ministers should be approved. At the same time, the opposition has alleged that the ruling party is not allowing them to vote.
The matter is related to corruption
In fact, the new President of Maldives has been elected only last year. Some of his ministers are accused of corruption, so the opposition should not include them in the cabinet.
The ministers against whom the opposition has objections are Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Housing Lands and Urban Development Minister Dr. Ali Haider, Islamic Affairs Minister Dr. Mohammad Shaheem Ali Saeed and Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohammad Saeed.
On the other hand, another opposition party, Democrats, wants to show the way out to Foreign Affairs Minister Musa Zameer.
