New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme in February. Under this scheme, it was being said that up to 300 units of free electricity can be available and the government will also give subsidy for installing solar rooftop. This subsidy amount will be up to Rs 78000. Now a new update has come out under this scheme. The government is working to provide subsidy under PM Surya Ghar Yojana as soon as possible. You will not have to wait long for this.
People applying under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme can get the subsidy within just 7 days. Whereas currently it takes up to a month to release the subsidy under this scheme. The government is working on a plan to release the subsidy within seven days and plans to implement it soon.
From February till now, 18 lakh applications have been received in this scheme and 1.30 crore people have registered. The main objective of this scheme is to provide free electricity up to 300 units. Under this scheme, solar panels are installed on the roof of the house, on which the government gives subsidy. This reduces the electricity bill. Also, you can produce more electricity and sell it to the government. On installing solar rooftop, the government transfers money directly to the bank account. This reduces the burden of installing solar panels. The government gives a subsidy of Rs 30 thousand per kilowatt up to 2 kilowatt, Rs 48 thousand per kilowatt up to 3 kilowatt and Rs 78 thousand per kilowatt for more than 3 kilowatt.
A government official said that currently subsidy claims are settled within a month. In future, the National Payment Corporation of India will be included, which will eliminate the need for cheques and checking bank accounts. This decision will speed up the process of issuing subsidies. Apart from this, back-end integration is also being expedited for payment of subsidy through the national portal.
