Young leaders are becoming disillusioned with Congress, the list of those leaving the party is getting longer…

There is a lot of coming and going of leaders during the election season, but the speed with which the young leaders of Congress have left the party has raised the question whether the party has failed to instill confidence among the youth.

In the last 24 hours, two young party leaders Vijender Singh and Gaurav Vallabh joined the BJP, while senior leader Sanjay Nirupam resigned from the primary membership of the party.

Vijender Singh had entered politics in 2019 and the party gave him a ticket from South Delhi, but he lost the election. Whereas Gaurav Vallabh was made the candidate by Congress from Jamshedpur East assembly seat of Jharkhand in 2019.

Despite the defeat from here, Congress gave Udaipur ticket to Gaurav in the Rajasthan Assembly elections in 2023, but he failed from here also.

Young leaders are worried about their future
Gaurav Vallabh has handled the election campaign of Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of Congress President. Despite all this, he thought it better to say goodbye to Congress.

Congress was also preparing to field international boxer Vijender Singh from Mathura Lok Sabha seat, but he left the party even before the ticket was announced.

In such a situation, the question arises as to why young leaders are leaving Congress. Political experts believe that young leaders are worried about their future.

After defeat in two Lok Sabha elections, victory in Karnataka and Telangana elections had raised hopes, but defeat in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh elections changed the picture. This is the reason why young leaders are now looking for future in other parties and the election season is completely suitable.

The list of leaders leaving Congress is long
During the election season, many leaders including Naveen Jindal, Milind Deora, Anil Sharma, Ashok Chavan and Baba Siddiqui have left the Congress party.

Earlier, young leaders like Anil Antony, RPN Singh, Jitin Prasad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakor have joined BJP. Whereas senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has formed his own party.

Congress leader said, the party gave full opportunity to the youth
On youth leaders leaving the party, a senior Congress leader said that he himself can answer this, but the party has given full opportunity to the youth.

There is a good number of candidates below fifty years of age in the Lok Sabha elections. Along with this, the top leadership of the party is giving full opportunities to the youth at every level.

What do experts say
Rajendra Sharma, Professor of Political Science at Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, believes that in the current political situation, young leaders are worried about their future in Congress.

He has a political career of 25-30 years now. In such a situation, they feel that BJP is more beneficial than Congress. That’s why young leaders are moving towards BJP.
