Zakir Naik, who has spewed venom against India, has criticized Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for not giving discounts during travel.
The controversial Islamic preacher was upset over charges for excess baggage not being waived off while traveling from Malaysia to Pakistan.
Let us tell you that PIA, which was facing financial crisis, had offered only 50 percent discount on its goods.
Zakir Naik reached Pakistan on October 1 and is scheduled to stay there till October 28. He said these things while addressing supporters in Karachi. He said, “When I was coming to Pakistan, our luggage weighed around 1000 kg.
I spoke to the CEO of PIA. The station manager assured me that he was ready to do anything for me.
When I told them that I had 500 to 600 kg of excess luggage and six people were traveling with me, they offered me 50 percent discount. I told them to either give the stuff for free or leave it. I refused to take the discount.
“Zakir Naik claimed that when a non-Muslim sees him in India they let him go for free. She asked, “This is India where people look at Dr Zakir Naik and forgive 1,000 to 2,000 kg of extra luggage. But in Pakistan I am a guest of the government and my visa says state guest. Despite this, PIA CEO is giving me 50 percent discount?”
Zakir Naik complained that the airlines charged him 101 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately Rs 2,137) for every 1 kg of excess luggage. “I feel very sad that PIA could not even allow me to carry 300 kg of extra luggage as a state guest,” he lamented.
“I don’t want your exemption,” he said. It pains me to speak the truth, but this is the situation in Pakistan. When any Hindu in India sees me, he says Dr. Naik will always speak the truth. As of today, India is not wrong, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is wrong. The respect I get in India. People like me in Pakistan also.”
Let us tell you that the Islamic preacher fled India after the National Investigation Agency registered a case after the terrorist attacks in Dhaka in 2016.
Since then he has been living in Malaysia. India has requested his extradition, but Malaysia has not yet responded.
The Center has declared him a fugitive. His Islamic Research Foundation has been banned and his passport cancelled.
